Brooke was raised in the rural area of Monroeville, NJ right outside of Salem County. When she initially started college she studied Biology but soon realized that wasn’t the area she wanted to study. She began to take legal classes at Gloucester County Community College and fell in love with law. Brooke earned an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies. She continued on to Wilmington University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. Throughout her education, Brooke interned at two different firms practicing in personal injury, family law, real estate, wills and trusts, and limited criminal law. Brooke enjoys working on Family law, PIP, and Employment law matters within our firm. As a paralegal, Brooke’s role is to educate the client and help guide them through their case.
At home, Brooke has 4 animals: two dogs (Bo and Chloe) and two cats (Riley and Sage). She enjoys reading and is a huge horror film fan.
Michael is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has been a paralegal for 22 years, specializing in personal injury protection benefits law. Mike is a valued member of our Personal Injury/ PIP benefits department where he regularly assists clients in obtaining proper and just compensation. Mike is committed to hard work and socially just values. He has a wonderful sense of “Irish” humor and enjoys spending time with his family.
Monica was born in Romania. She came to the United States in 1990 after the Romanian Revolution. Monica is born of humble means but she and hard-working family continue to thrive with positive determination. Monica is a graduate of Mercer County Community College, 2004 and thereafter began a career in Medical Billing and Coding for over 10 years. She works at Burnham Douglass as a Legal Assistant, a position which she values as a daily learning experience. Monica is grateful and excited, as she puts it, “to be part of a such a wonderful team with great values.” Monica can regularly be seen with a smile on her face and extends a helping hand to those clients who reach out to us for support and guidance.
Monica is married to her husband and they have a beautiful daughter. She is an avid runner and movie fan. Monica’s favorite expression is “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
Maria Andreina Fernandez
Maria practiced law as a Venezuelan attorney for 22 years as in-house counsel for American companies such as Praxair-Venezuela and Cargill-Venezuela, where she managed legal risks and negotiated contracts in countries throughout Central and South America which enabled her to gain much insight into corporate practices and human relations within the workplace. Maria moved to the United States several years ago. She is a member of the Burnham Douglass legal team where she provides paralegal services in a compassionate, well-reasoned and personal manner as she has the pleasure of working with many of our employment law clients on a regular basis. Maria’s paralegal services include many important responsibilities such as client intake, calendar management, scheduling, discovery management, motion practice, mediation and trial preparation. She finds that trial preparation and attending trial to be the most exciting aspect of her work, all the while recognizing that the aim is to reach a mutual resolution between the parties.
Maria obtained her law degree from Santa Maria University, Venezuela. She also has a Business Certification in Business Management for Attorneys from the Institute of Management Superior Studies, Venezuela; and she is currently working on finishing a Bioethics Master Degree at the Central University in Venezuela. Maria has obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Science with a Paralegal Major at the Atlantic Cape Community College while living in the United States. Maria Andreina is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
While it seems that during most of her waking hours she is either working or attending college to advance her education, she makes time for other interests. Maria loves music, traveling and going to fine restaurants with her husband.
Maria Alexandra Fernandez
Maria Alexandra has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is certified in Quickbooks and QB bookkeeping. She also works as the Director of the Girls Can Club, a non-profit organization established by Michelle Douglass, Executive Director, to bring young girls together for educational and empowerment purposes. Maria is deeply committed to her family and Christian beliefs and values. In her personal time, you can usually find her with family or friends. She enjoys spending time with her children and teaching them the importance of a unified family, community engagement and the value of being an honest productive citizen.
Maria is fluent in Spanish and English although she regularly strives to improve her knowledge of the English language and its nuances.
Throughout her 19 years in the law field, Tina has been able to help so many people in so many different ways. Her experience includes 7 years of paralegal work in the field of military law, where she developed a great respect and appreciation for all of our military personnel and their families. Tina also worked to provide guidance to people regarding low income housing through Fair Share Housing laws. Burnham Douglass affords Tina the opportunity to put her altruistic and generous spirit to work helping people through difficult times in their lives in the family law field. She finds this work to be truly satisfying because he knowledge and empathy have proven to be invaluable to the lives of the clients she has touched.
Tina is a Notary Public for the State of New Jersey. She is a graduate of Gloucester County College with an Associate’s degree in legal administration/paralegal. Tina is a resident of Hammonton, NJ where she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Rosie.
Jennifer began her career in 1973 working for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia as a Legal Clerk, and retiring after 31 years of Government service, she became employed with the Burnham Law Group in 2005 as a Legal Clerk, Secretary. Her responsibilities include client intakes, telephone communications, email and assistance with legal work and interaction with clients. She enjoys providing reassurance to clients and supporting them through the legal process. Jennifer was born in South Philadelphia and has lived in Marlton, NJ since 1985 with her husband of 40 years and 2 children. She enjoys going to the beach and taking care of her 9 year old Golden Retriever, Molly.
Gabrielle was born and raised right here in South Jersey, where she graduated from Burlington County College with a Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts in 2015. She thereafter attended The College of New Jersey to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2018. Gabrielle began her career with our law firm as a part-time intern. Upon graduating from college, Gabrielle made the decision to become a flight attendant, where she took her love of helping others to new heights! Nonetheless, she still stays grounded by working as a part-time Legal Assistant with Burnham Douglass. She is a wonderful team member who cares deeply about our clients. When not working, Gabrielle loves to travel, and learn about each new place she visits. She also plays the guitar and has been singing for as long as she can remember. Finally, Gabrielle is probably the world’s biggest pasta enthusiast!
Diane started her career as an Optometric Assistant for 10 years, from there she developed a career path from medical records manager to join the Burnham Law Group in 2003 as the Office Manager. Diane brings with her over 30 years of administrative experience in office management. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of HR policies, programs and practices within the firm; she maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing. Diane is instrumental in the development and founding of Burnham Douglass. Her operational and management skills ensure that our clients stay informed, files and matters are maintained, organized and updated. Whether we need a file tracked down or a client requires immediate assistance, Diane has proven to be an invaluable resource. She enjoys the ongoing opportunities to learn, grow and fulfill a variety of essential needs in our ever-active law firm.
Diane is a true South Jersey girl born and raised in our area, she is an avid boater and first mate and can usually been seen boating around the Somers Point to Cape May shoreline in New Jersey. She is also a loyal Philadelphia sports fan, especially cheering on the Eagles and attending Sixers games!
