Managing Partner
Philip S. Burnham, II, was born in Englewood, Colorado. He graduated from Arcadia University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in computer science and a minor in business. In 1990, he earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law. Philip began his legal career serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Rushton H. Ridgway, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Legal Practice and Firm Leadership
In 1994, Philip founded the Burnham Law Group, LLC. The firm has since evolved into Burnham Douglass, headquartered in Marlton, New Jersey, with a satellite office at the Jersey Shore in Northfield. The firm focuses on litigating and representing individuals and businesses in family law (specifically regarding complex divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, alimony negotiations, and equitable distribution of assets), as well as employment and labor matters. Philip approaches these sensitive matters with a focus on protecting his clients’ financial futures and parental rights.
Philip possesses extensive experience preparing and trying cases in both federal and state courts, covering civil and criminal matters. In addition to managing a successful law firm, Philip currently serves as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel (MESP) panelist in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties. In this capacity, he assists other attorneys and litigants in resolving contested matrimonial issues before they proceed to trial.
He is a Master in the Thomas J. Forkin Inn of Court and a former member of the District IIIB Ethics Committee.

Professional History
Over the course of 30 years, Philip has represented a diverse range of clients. His background includes representing a criminal defendant in a high-profile racketeering case that was litigated, in part, in Italy. He has also made headlines in cases of distinction, including a gender discrimination and whistleblower lawsuit brought on behalf of three professional women against the Atlantic County Prosecutor. He leverages this high-stakes litigation background to advocate aggressively for spouses facing contentious divorces.
Philip has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including membership in the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
